When i-prophets energy services were looking to relocate in 2007 Daresbury Innovation Centre offered superb facilities and excellent access to major road networks. However, energy efficiency was a concern so the centre was encouraged to engage the Carbon Trust, with i-Prophets Energy Services as their preferred consultant.

About the innovation centre
Daresbury Innovation Centre offers 24,000 sq ft of high quality office, workshop and laboratory space as well as a range of business support services. This superb facility provides a compelling location for small to medium sized enterprises with high growth potential and has already attracted 23 companies to the region, including IBM.
In addition to the high quality facilities at the Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus, approximately 2.5ha of serviced development land is currently available for development and occupiers or developers are now being asked to come forward with high quality proposals that will complement the existing world-class campus.

Accessing the Carbon Trust
The approach that proved to be best for the campus with an annual utility bill of approximately £70,000 was to apply for free support through the Carbon Trust. Helped by i-Prophets energy services facilities manager Kathryn Smart completed the simple survey application form and was rewarded with a two day opportunity assessment delivered by their preferred consultant.
Commitment to continual savings
Following on from the survey the campus has committed to advancing the findings by sharing best practice with the parent group of the North West Development agency.
As its continual commitment as a tenant i-Prophets energy services have installed digitalenergy on the site as a testament to best practice.
