The Carbon Trust Standard has effectively put an end to the uncertainty of uncontrolled carbon footprinting services that mislead organisations. Formally known as the Energy Efficiency Accrediation Scheme (EEAS) the standard is designed to provide a robust, objective and consistent methodology for assessing corporate carbon performance.
The Standard is based on ISO 14064-1 and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Standard from the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). It specifies requirements in three key areas:
